This research discusses the implementation mechanism of government regulation No. 48 of 2014 concerning marriage tariffs and community responses regarding marriage tariffs after the enactment of government regulation No. 48 of 2014 at the Makassar District KUA. The research method used in writing this thesis is descriptive qualitative with the scope of primary data and secondary data. This research was conducted in one location, namely at the KUA of Makassar District, Makassar City. The results of this study show the mechanism of implementation of Government Regulation No. 48 of 2014 at the KUA of Makassar Districtstates that marriage registration on working days at the KUA office is free of charge, with the prospective bride and groom required to register at least 10 working days beforehand and complete the required documents. After the documents verified, the marriage will be scheduled. However, if the marriage ceremony is conducted outside the outside the KUA office or on a holiday, an additional fee of Rp600,000. The community response to this policy was generally positive, especially from the middle to lower economic classes who felt helped by the free service, although there was a hope that the timing of the the free service, although there was hope that the time of the marriage ceremony would be more flexible given the busy schedules of the bride and groom.
